Obviously using headphones improves the quality of audio experience and allows the stereo sound quality to be heard. However, the sound from the speaker is the highest digital quality MP3 and headphones are not essential.
Layering is fundamental to designing an audio tour. As the track plays the visitor can obtain further information by pressing the red, yellow or green layer buttons. This layering allows the script writer to provide audio for a broad spectrum of interests or requirements. Layer buttons can also be used for quizzes or for customer feedback.

The Orpheo Audio Guide is a handheld device that allows visitors to independently walk around museums, galleries and visitor attractions, and listen to an audio commentary. The visitor is completely in control and can walk around at their own pace.
The Orpheo is ergonomically designed to be the size of a large mobile phone, and is used just like one. It can also be worn with a shoulder, neck or wrist strap and with headphones, to give the visitor easy hands free listening.
By entering a number on the keypad the visitor can play a track, or in the case of the semi-or wholly automatic tracks, they can be triggered by a transponder (radio frequency or infra-red) automatically. The graphics screen can also display pictures or video associated with the track. It is also useful for quizzes inchildrens Tours or customer feedback.
Orpheo Classic
Is the most popular unit and includes a standard keypad and coloured layer buttons and can be used for random access or linear Audio Tours.
Orpheo Compact
A neat and cost-effective solution designed for visitor attractions with a linear route, or one which is auto triggered. i.e. where it is not essential to have a number pad.
Orpheo Mini
The Orpheo Mini is the recent addition to the range which is slightly smaller and lighter than the Orpheo Classic.
