Oral History Phone
"Our new gallery was opened yesterday and everyone loved the 'phone - it was the star attraction! Thank you very much." Maggie Wood, Bromley Museum
The Oral History Telephone is one of the most popular Talking Boxes, it comprises an audio unit contained within a telephone of your choice, and is perfect for playing Oral History tracks.
A standard GPO telephone of an age suitable for the audio tracks that you wish to use, is modified and connected to a Compact Flash based audio unit.
A dial tone is generated when the handset is lifted and the dialled track is played.
The system is powered by 12V DC from a small mains powered power supply.
